Halloween Makeup

For Halloween my little sister Kiersi was a Thing from Dr. Suess. She and her two twin friends from her softball team, had the cutest outfits and were Thing 1, Thing, 2 and Thing 3. They were so stinking cute! She wanted me to do her hair and makeup, this was a picture the Saturday before Halloween for a party that she went to. The actual night of Halloween we did their hair a little more crazy and it was sprayed blue. But the makeup was the same. It turned out pretty cute and she was absolutely darling!

Keri Engagements

The last couple of weeks have been so busy i've got a lot of posts to catch up on, I promise they'll be posted soon! Keri is so nice and naturally beautiful it didn't take much work on my part to make her even more pretty! I met her at the bridal show and she contacted me to do her hair and makeup for her wedding in the Spring.
Keri wanted her engagements with all the pretty fall colors so we did her hair and makeup for pictures the end of October. She doesn't normally wear a lot of makeup but wanted to step it up a little for pictures. We did some pretty natural brown and taupe colors on her eyes and she let me do a bold, pretty fall lip color. We did her hair in loose curls and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Congrats Keri and Sam, can't wait for the wedding!

Bridal Extravaganza

This past Saturday I was able to participate in the Fall Bridal Extravaganza at the South Towne Expo Center. There was so many beautiful brides that i was able to talk to about their upcoming weddings and talk a little more about their hair and makeup plans. It was a very successful show and i am so thankful to all the help i had putting together my booth! :)

Jessica Bridals

Jessica is such a beautiful girl! She got my info. from a bridal shop and we did her makeup for her bridals this past week. She was having her friend do the photography and they hadn't decided on the location yet but were just going to drive around salt lake and find some pretty buildings to take them by. Which i think is a good idea because there is always very amazing buildings to take pictures by downtown. Jessica wanted a very natural look, she doesn't normally wear a lot of makeup but still wanted to look done up for her bridals. We did some pretty neutral colors for her eyes, added some lashes to bulk up her lash line and really make her eyes pop, and did a very natural pretty pink lip. You looked beautiful Jessica, Congrats!

Kim Vo Best of Blonding Color Class

This past week I had the chance to go to an advanced color class by Kim Vo. Kim Vo is a master colorist to many Hollywood Celebrities. Some of you may know him from a few TV shows that he does such as Extreme Makeover, ABC's Daily 10, or Shear Genius. Kim Vo taught many amazing techniques with color and lots of different ways to create blonde, caramel, and the melting colors that are very popular right now. He taught a lot of new fall trends that are coming in right now and how to take the blondes who have been very bleach blonde all summer a little darker for fall. I learned a lot of new celebrity color formulations and a technique for in between the 4-6 week time period of your next salon appointment where you don't need all of your color done but don't want your dark roots or your gray to be showing through - you just need a little touch up :)  I'm so glad i was able to go to this class and can't wait to try these techniques in the salon!

Shayla's Wedding Hair

This past February one of my best friends Shayla got married. I've worked with Shayla in the salon for a few years and we've become very good friends. Shay had a really cute flower accessory made for her hair that she wanted to incorporate into her updo. She also had pretty short hair at the time so almost all of this updo was extensions... it's amazing the things you can do with extensions :) Her hair turned out beautiful and I was happy to be a bridesmaid. Congrats Shay and Chris you looked beautiful!
